Competition Squad
Competition Pathways
The RAPS Competitive Squads are designed for divers who are ready to further develop their skills, increase their training commitment and work towards competition.
Training focuses on refining diving technique, building strength, consistency and confidence, and preparing athletes to perform under competition conditions. Sessions include a combination of strength and conditioning, dryland training and pool diving.
As part of our commitment to athlete development, RAPS has introduced a Development Squad alongside our Performance Squad, creating a clearer progression for divers as they advance through the competitive pathway.
Our competition program consists of two squad levels that train together within a shared session while following individual training plans appropriate to each athlete's stage of development.
Development Squad
The Development Squad is the first stage of our competition pathway and is designed for divers who are building the skills required to compete confidently. Training focuses on technical refinement, progression across all diving groups, developing complete competition dive lists, and building the confidence and consistency required for School and State competition.
Performance Squad
The Performance Squad is designed for athletes who have demonstrated the commitment and ability to compete at a higher level. Training places greater emphasis on advanced technical refinement, consistent execution under competition conditions, physical preparation, and developing the resilience and focus required to compete successfully at School, State and National level.
RAPS has a strong competitive program, with many of our squad divers regularly representing the club at School, State and National competitions.
Divers are invited into the Competitive Squads by the coaching team when they demonstrate the skills, consistency and readiness required to train and compete at this level. Placement within the Development or Performance Squad is determined by the coaching team and reviewed as each diver progresses through the program.
